A port of Roly Poly Putt for PC, including almost everything seen in the mobile release. Certain mobile-specific features (ie. tilt control) have been disabled to make the game more suitable for PC play, we have added a few special features for this release (gamepad support, level tweaks, etc.). We've also included all of our home-grown development utilities. These are the very same utilities we used when we developed the actual game. You'll find a more detailed guide about each of them within the /utilities/ folder of the archive. All of that information can be found here. For the time being, the game/utilities are free of charge, but if you choose to donate $5 USD or more, you'll guarantee yourself access to all future updates for life, a "Supporter" usertitle, and other special forum privileges. Absolutely! We're going to continue making regular releases based on the feedback we receive from our community. We will also be slowly stripping away more and more of the mobile-centric elements of the game, making improvements to modding capabilities, and, once we're ready, adding brand new features, modes, and even stages. We plan to keep the game free up until the point when RPP:PC can stand on its own, but we'll cross that bridge when we get to it. We'll likely open the doors to the public at that point as well. Yes, we hope to continue supporting Roly Poly Putt on iOS and Android devices. Should this PC release flourish, it is likely that we will bring some of its updates to mobile, yes. Feel free to post any bug reports from our mobile versions on these forums as well. Yes, quite a lot! When the time is right, we may very well go towards Steam's Greenlight system and see what happens. Should that opportunity transpire, all RPP:PC purchases will be honored if Steam will allow us to. Yep! Simply type poststats yes/no into the console, and restart the game. We're hoping to expand upon this functionality - perhaps one day we'll have a forum-wide leaderboard for every course! Did you use a different e-mail address? Your Paypal e-mail and your Spaddlewit Forum e-mail addresses need to match for you to receive your perks. If you didn't use the same address, please contact us at info@spaddlewit.com and we'll look into it. You do not need to register, however...logging in with your forum account will drive a lot of cool features in the future. Right now, it merely displays your records on your userpage, but this is only a beginning. Well, you can either throw up a topic on the forums, or you can try catching us in our IRC Chatroom. We'll be in there from time to time.
Simply open the console (press '~' on the keyboard) and type in "addfile [filename here]". We recommend archiving your modifications in .zip files for easy usage. The archive Roly uses for game assets can't be modified - if you're getting this error, I'd reinstall the game in the same directory. That being said, you can take parts of our package and use them to create archives of your own, and that will load just fine. We recommend having the following: You do, of course! We (as in Spaddlewit) retain ownership of the IP, the engine, the source code, and all assets belonging to the game, but anything you create is your own. You are more than welcome to 'remix' our work in your own RPP:PC modifications, provided you don't try to sell them. We're really looking forward to seeing what you guys come up with! Yes! Custom levels, costumes, and characters can be used on iOS and Android versions. For iOS users, make sure you have iTunes installed. Nope! We have a full 3D, 2.5D (3D against a plane, axis, gravity-based, you name it), and 2D-capable engine powering this game, don't forget. What you make can transcend the boundaries of Roly's design, if you know what you're doing. Here's a small sampling: Yes, we have Lua scripting capabilities. All of our level information is being fed into the game from a Lua file, in fact. The capabilities of Lua within this release are limited, so there isn't much beyond that....yet. Give us some time, and you will certainly see us expand this functionality. Unless you have explicit permission from either A.J. or Mike, you can't release anything here as part of your own unaffiliated project. You can't use our engine for any commercial means. You can, however use our assets to make whatever you'd like for Roly Poly Putt: PC, and you are more than welcome to share those creations with us here. |
