[WIP] The Weather Factory - CoatRack's Adventure into Roly Poly Putt Mapping
Hello world, having played this game on the iOS and enjoyed it, I decided I would try and construct levels for it. Starting off with this one, Weather Factory:

Spent a good while trying to figure things out, with the help of AJ and Mike when I got down right confused with what I was doing, I managed to git this out after some trial and error. Not much, but it is a start, hopefully I will be able to make quick work of this with the help of my former SRB2 mapping skills.

Looks fantastic, CoatRack! Not too shabby for day 1, if I do say so myself :)

I would recommend placing some obstacles on the top area, flipping the center barrier around, and hiding the hole in there. You'll find a prefab for the hole in /model/ that can be merged with your level. You'd have to delete your existing lightmap before proceeding, however.

I can give you advice on how to properly add this level to the game/give it a par value once you're past that stage :)

This is really encouraging me to make my own courses now!

Update!
Gotten a load of work done on this today, springs, more level, and spinning fans, even got it in a state that it could be "beat"!

I played around with your IRC link. I somehow got myself inside a wall.

I don't know if it's an engine issue or a level design flaw. Pretty amusing to be honest. Inside the wall, I'm intangible. Yes, the timer is at 278 minutes because I left it on for so long.

In addition, I can't get out, either. The walls are solid from the inside as well.

Oh and putting down here, treats this as a wall for some reason.

I'm starting to think more and more that these bugs are related to meeting polygon faces being a little more sensitive than they should be.

CoatRack, this just keeps on getting better and better. Nicely done! Your sugar cubes have an interesting up vector, but I imagine you're still just experimenting. :P

Just a heads-up - you don't need to package both the .buz and the .png files with your releases - just .buz would do fine. v0.04 is going to have support for PNG textures, so if you want to wait a teensie bit longer, you can take an even simpler approach.

Update!
So, I have the level almost fully finished, not fully done since I need level select pictures still, and I am wanting to get a new song for it. But you can now finish the level!

This is really cool, CoatRack. :)

I know you're writing a guide too, so some important advice - whenever possible don't have polygons intersect each other. Like if you have two blocks, and slide them together, remove their inner faces. Otherwise you might get stopped as if a wall is there because Roly is touching the edge of that embedded 'wall' when he rolls over it.

Well, the par is definitely zero for this level.

It took me a little bit to figure out how to load the level. Apparently RPP doesn't like .rar files? I had to recompress it as a zip before I figured out that the files need to be in the root of the zip too. You have an extra weatherfactory folder in the .rar before the actual level content starts, and apparently you have to move the files out of that folder before the game will load the level right.

I like the way you approach difficulty in the level. I appreciate that I don't die in the level, at least not during normal play. It seems like it's just difficult to continue your stroke throughout the course.

The wall-run before the first spring was really hard to do the first time. I'm getting better at it, but I also noticed that I can't ride the wall back down to the ground. I think the sharp angle at the end of the surface always kicks me off. I don't know if you're into the idea of a smooth path that goes up and curves back down or not. Mostly I'm just confused about how I should be exiting the wall run to approach the next spring.

My biggest problem with the level actually has nothing to do with the gameplay: You can't tell you're on a blimp while you're in the course. You can only just barely see the propellers from the start, and then the rest of the course just falls away when you keep going. This is unfortunately a gigantic suggestion which can't be solved simply. Although off the top of my head, maybe you could have the course hanging below the blimp instead? I dunno.
